A former lawmaker representing Kajola State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Mustapha Olawale Akeem, has responded to recent claims made by his successor, Hon. Musbau Azeez, describing them as “baseless taunts.”

Hon. Mustapha, who is also the Chairman of Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, expressed disappointment in Hon. Musbau’s actions, saying they are a clear indication of his inability to effectively represent the people of Kajola.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, Hon. Mustapha challenged Hon. Musbau to provide concrete evidence of alleged sharing of constituency funds.

He emphasized that without tangible proof, Hon. Musbau’s claims are nothing but mere fabrications.
His words: “If he claims such a weighty act occurred, let him publish clear, verifiable documents—or forever remain the ‘dumb honorable’ he has consistently proven to be.”

Hon. Mustapha also questioned Hon. Musbau’s performance as a lawmaker.

He said: “What has he done with the over ₦20 million constituency allowance? Where are the tangible, visible projects funded under his tenure? The amount he has collected as constituency allowance within the two years is more than what I got throughout my 4 years as a lawmaker. If we look around the constituency, you will see what I did with my constituency allowance while serving as a lawmaker. Which bill has he sponsored since assuming office?”

He expressed concern that despite receiving substantial funds for constituency projects, Hon. Musbau has failed to deliver any meaningful development to the people of Kajola.

The former lawmaker further accused Hon. Musbau of lacking understanding of legislative processes and parading “paper-thin achievements” while the people cry out for real development.

“Kajola people deserve more than self-congratulatory lists filled with phantom ‘facilitations’ that exist only on WhatsApp broadcasts and social media pages,”he said.

Hon. Mustapha also criticized Hon. Musbau’s appointments, describing them as mere political stunts designed to deceive and distract the people.

“The few appointments he brags about are not sincere efforts to empower but mere political stunts designed to deceive and distract,” he said.

Despite Hon. Musbau’s antics, Hon. Mustapha said he remains committed to honest, people-oriented service and the continued development of Kajola Local Government.

“No amount of noise or distraction from a failing legislator will derail this focus,” he said.

The former lawmaker concluded by urging the people of Kajola to hold Hon. Musbau accountable for his actions and demands better representation.

“You are a misfit; incapable to represent Kajola,” he said, emphasizing that Hon. Musbau’s performance has fallen short of expectations.
