#endbadgovernance: UBA Freezes ‘take It Back Movement’ Account Ahead Of Protests
Ahead of the #EndBadGovernance nationwide peaceful protests scheduled to start on August 1, the United Bank for Africa (UBA Group) has allegedly frozen the account of a non-governmental body known as the ‘Take It Back Movement‘ to stifle its activities on the orders of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and Department of State Security (DSS).
This was contained in a letter published on Friday, July 26, 2024, by the counsel of the body, Inibehe Effiong Chambers.
The letter demanded immediate reopening of the Take-It-Back Movement’s account within 24 hours, or it would take legal action against the bank.
The planned #EndBadGovernance nationwide peaceful protest has since unsettled the Tinubu-led administration, leading to threats from the government and the DSS to citizens.
