The Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has heaped-praised the lawmaker representing the good people of Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass A Adigun also known as Agboworin for his ICT training programme, describing it as a model for youth development initiatives across the country.

He gave the commendation on Friday, 21st of February 2025, during one-day ICT training programme for formidable youths in his constituency, which held at the local government House, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

He applauded the lawmaker’s effort for equipping young people with essential skills in this 21st century.

He said: “By providing ICT training, Agboworin aims to bridge the gap between theory and practical, enabling Youths to compete effectively in the global economy.

“Like the Pride of the West, His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, like Rep Abass Adigun Agboworin, as a two-term lawmaker and Chairman of House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, Rep. Agboworin, has demonstrated his ability to drive positive change in his constituency and across Oyo State.

“His efforts to promote ICT education and skills development are a testament to his vision for a more empowered and connected global world.

“His initiatives have not gone unnoticed, as he was recently praised by data specialists and journalists for his exceptional accomplishments and dedication to his constituents’ welfare, good representation at its peak and always listening to the yarning of his constituents. Adebowale said.

The Youth Agency Chairman further extolled the lawmaker in promoting sustainable development, recognizing the importance of ICT skills in today’s digital age.

He urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity and make use of the tech privileges in developing themselves into the global world, which, according to him, is the survival of the fittest.

“This is one of the rare opportunities for youth development; Rep Agboworin has been up and doing in driving productive results for youth empowerment, the result of which has shown in his performance in bringing democratic dividends to the doorstep of his constituents.”

As a model for youth development, it demonstrates the power of public-private partnerships in driving positive change and empowering young people to reach their full potential.

Earlier in his speech, Prince Adebowale claimed that the lawmaker had in the past, organized ICT training for 150 youths in his constituency, training for over 350 unemployed youths, vocational training for 250 youths on phone repairs, training of 200 youths and women on skill development and capacity building, equipping 300 youths in fashion designing and hair-dressing as well as people living with a disability.

In their appreciation, two of the beneficiaries,Adekunle Ameerah Itunnu and Adesanya Omikunle Olakunle, appreciated the lawmaker for his benevolent acts and urged other lawmakers to learn from him in giving back to their people.
