Emefiele left hole in Nigeria’s treasury’ – Akpabio hits ex-CBN Gov
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has once again criticized the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, accusing him of leaving the country’s economy in a dire state.
During a recent event at Ikot Ekpene Stadium, Akpabio urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that Emefiele had created a significant deficit in the national treasury.
Akpabio reiterated his earlier comments holding Emefiele responsible for the country’s economic challenges and expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to steer the economy back on the path to growth. He highlighted the combined experience of Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, and himself as a formidable force for revitalizing the country’s economy and governance.
Akpabio also promised significant federal projects in the state and the South-South region, including a coastal road connecting several political zones for socio-economic development. Additionally, he assured Governor Eno of support in extending ongoing road projects to enhance connectivity within the state.
Governor Eno, in response, pledged cooperation across party lines to foster development in the state under the Tinubu administration.
