Every October 15, millions of people around the world unite to celebrate Global Handwashing Day, and this year, Egbeda Local Government in partnership with Unicef proudly took part in this global campaign.

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru represented by the vice chairman, Hon. Oladebo simple Flagged-Off the campaign as it serves as a reminder that washing our hands with soap is a simple and powerful way to prevent ourselves from germs and protect lives. also emphasized the importance of maintaining clean hands, guided by this year’s theme “Be a Handwashing Hero.



Director of Environmental Health Services, Sanitarian Baale Victoria Adekunbi conducted a proper hand washing activity to promote good hygiene practices and raise awareness on the importance of handwashing in preventing the spread of diseases.
ln the campaign movement, Mrs Ajao Nafisat Temitope joined the movement as an ambassador to educate the gbagi market on the importance of making hadwashing as an act of promotes personal well-being and also helps protect families and the larger community from infectious diseases.

Among the dignitaries leading the campaign across Efun, Gbagi international market and Akingbade area of Egbeda local government are Leader, Egbeda Legislative Arm, Hon. Olakanmi Olusola; Hon. Rafiu Ibrahim; Hon. Sarafadeen Salaudeen, Hon. Jimoh Arowolo, Supervisor for Health, Hon. Ayaniyi, youth leader, Ajorosun LCDA, Alhaji Ganiyu Babatunde, Director of Education, Mrs. Bosede Ilugbaro, Director of budget, Mr. Abiola Adebayo, market women, and teachers.
