EASTER CELEBRATIONS: IBADAN NORTHWEST COUNCIL BOSS RAHMAN ADEPOJU FELICITATES CHRISTIANS, COUNSELS ON FORGIVENESS.
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government,Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has appealed to all and sundry to forgive one another wrong deeds and live in harmony for peaceful co-existence.
The words of advice was contained in his Easter celebration message to Christian faithfuls in Ibadan Northwest Local Government and Oyo State in general.
According to the Chairman, Easter celebrations signified the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ who was nailed to the cross after being betrayed by his followers.
The Chairman reiterated that Jesus Christ during his life time preached about forgiveness, tolerance, happiness perseverance, charity,love and peace,hence, the need to emulate these traits so as to live a fulfilled life as good Christians. He said” despite being betrayed by few of His disciples, Jesus Christ still appealed to God on their behalf for forgiveness.To err is human,to forgive is divine”.
The Council Boss enjoined Christian faithfuls across the nooks and crannies of the state to inculcate the teachings of Jesus Christ in relating with one another so as to build a peaceful and harmonious society.
Alh Adepoju further counselled all and sundry to forgive and forget their past wrongful deeds and strive towards achieving a promising goal on earth.
He added that this year’s Easter celebrations should not be for excessive or frivolous spendings rather the little resources available should be shared to put smiles on faces of the less privileged.
In the same vein, the Executive Chairman has likened the leadership
styles of His Excellency, Engr Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde in running the affairs of the state to the personified traits of the Lord Jesus Christ during his life time. He Congratulated His Excellency and his family on the Easter celebrations and urged him not to relent in his humanitarian services to the citizenry.
The Executive Chairman rejoices with all Christians across the globe on this year’s Easter celebrations. He wishes them a joyous and prosperous celebrations.
