The acting Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Dr Taiwo Abideen Lasisi, has described the late Dr Victor Omololu Olunloyo as a trailblazer that laid a solid foundation for the growth of The Polytechnic Ibadan.

Dr Taiwo Lasisi stated this when he led a delegation of the institution on a condolence visit to the family of the deceased at his Molete residence in Ibadan on Tuesday.
He described Dr. Olunloyo, as a visionary leader who pioneered the growth of The Polytechnic Ibadan as the first Principal, a position now known as Rector.

Dr Lasisi further noted that the elderstatesman, who later became the governor of old Oyo State, played a pivotal role in the Institution’s early development both in academics and infrastructure.

While expressing the condolences of The Polytechnic, Ibadan community to the family, he prayed to God to strengthen their faith and comfort them at this trying period.

He promised that the institution would continue to honour the memory of Dr. Olunloyo, adding that his influence extended beyond education to the entire nation.
The widow of the deceased, Mrs Olunloyo, expressed gratitude to the Rector and his team for the visit.
She promised to keep the institution abreast of the burial plans to enable the institution to partake in the activities.
The Deputy Rector, Mrs Olaide Salawu, the acting Registrar, Mr Joseph Adewumi Ogunjimi, the Dean students’Affairs, Mr J.A Makinde, the personal assistant to the Rector, Mr Olaoye ,and the Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Soladoye Adewole, were part of the delegation that went to condole with the Olunloyos.
