The inspection train of the chairman of Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB),Dr Akin Fagbemi was on an official visit to General Hospital,Oyo,Ilora and Fiditi respectively to inspect some of the equipments within the hospitals.
Dr Fagbemi during the inspection charged all the staffs in those hospitals to work harder for the attainment of the sustainable health care delivery of his excellency,Engr Oluseyi Makinde to the people of Oyo State in general.
The chairman was able to visited Maternal Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit(MNICU) of the General Hospital,Oyo which was commissioned in February,2024.It is a 12 bedded facility incorporating the care of both mothers and babies under single roof.
The MNICU was donated by World Health Organisation (WHO) and it’s the first of its kind in South West of the country.
The facility is equipped with modern facilities including Neo-natal incubators,Phototherapy machines and Neo-natal resucitate and a host of other advanced medical equipments.
Dr Fagbemi also visited Laboratory department of the hospital where the chemical analyser of the hospital is not working and needs to be repaired for the use of the patients.He commended the staffs of the hospital for keeping the hospital neat and tidy.
At the General Hospital,Ilora,the chairman encouraged the workers to be ups and doing on their duty and have a right attitude towards the patients.
He admonish them to improve on their own ability so as to increase patronage from patients from the town and those at the rural areas.
The trip also took the management of the OYSHMB to Fiditi General Hospital where the chairman praised the staffs of the hospital for keeping the environment of the hospital very neat and tidy.
He charged the head of the facility to put into writing the issue of termites that has been disturbing them and send it to the board for necessary action.
The head of the hospitals,Dr Olanrewaju Adeniji,Dr Ojetayo O and Dr Owoeye M.T of Oyo,Ilora and Fiditi General Hospitals respectively thanked the chairman and the management for the visit and promised to always work hard along with other staffs of the board for the success of sustainable health care delivery of Engr Oluseyi Makinde to the people of Oyo State.
In the entourage with the chairman of the board Dr Akin Fagbemi are Dr Anifat Ibraheem,the Permanent Secretary,Dr Adesanya Olufemi the Director of Medical Services(DMS),Mr Stephen Olatunde the director of Hospitals’ Administration and Mrs Bolaji-Ayoola Eyitayo the director of Nursing services in the OYSHMB.
