Dr. Akande Kazeem commends Governor Makinde for his exceptional performance in Oyo State, highlighted by his notable NIPR Index Score.

Dr. Akande Kazeem Babatunde expressed his admiration and congratulated Governor Oluseyi Makinde on receiving a remarkable score of 92.7% in the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations’ (NIPR) Reputation Performance Index on Nigerian Political Governance 2024.

He noted that the NIPR, renowned for its commitment to excellence in public relations and reputation management, had conducted a thorough evaluation across various sectors, highlighting Governor Makinde’s outstanding leadership and transformative governance.

Dr. Babatunde pointed out several specific achievements under Governor Makinde’s administration that contributed to this recognition.

These include the substantial increase in Internally Generated Revenue, reaching an average of N4.95 billion in early 2024, without raising taxes.

The governor’s implementation of the Sustainable Actions for Economic Recovery (SAfER) initiative has provided relief through various components such as transport subsidies and health insurance for vulnerable groups, impacting thousands of residents.

He further emphasized the strategic investments in infrastructure, including the completion of significant road projects like the 65 km Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin Road and the Adebayo Alao-Akala Memorial Highway.

These projects have played a crucial role in transforming Oyo State into a regional agribusiness hub, attracting private investments worth over N10 billion.

In the agricultural sector, the introduction of the Oyo State Land Tractorisation Subsidy scheme and the distribution of low-interest loans to smallholder farmers have been instrumental in driving economic growth.

The administration’s focus on education, with the recruitment of thousands of teachers and the allocation of funds for infrastructural renewal in schools, has also been commendable.

Dr. Babatunde concluded by stating that Governor Makinde’s comprehensive approach to governance, marked by significant advancements in healthcare, tourism, and economic development, rightly deserves the esteemed recognition from the NIPR.
