The Honourable member representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Hon Abbas Adigun(Agboworin), has said that the viral video, which portrayed him as struggling to make representation in the floor of the House as a huge misrepresentation.
Hon Adigun, in a statement on Sunday, said that the viral video was not fair to him and his contributions on the faithful day.
He disclosed that he has always made valid contributions to deliberations in the house, being a ranking member, adding that a slight mix-up was sadly blown out of proportion.
He said: “On that date, what happened was that I had made a valid contribution by suggesting an additional prayer to the motion being debated. I suggested that the House should consider a special honour for our serving military men so as to serve as encouragement for them. I also gave an example of the situation in the United States, where institutions slate servicemen for special honours and awards.
“So, I was really shocked to see that the mix up in communication between my Honourable self and the presiding officer was circulated apparently to downplay the importance of my contributions on the day.”
According to the honourable member, the development cannot diminish his commitment to his Constituency, the Green Chamber, and the National Assembly as an institution.
He also asked his constituents to discountenance the development, adding that the incident won’t determine him from making positive contributions to the lives of his people.
