The Dental Technologists Registration Board of Nigeria (DTRBN) led by the Registrar of the board, Mallam Idris Ahmad Bappah, paid an official courtesy visit to the chairman of Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB), Dr. Akin Fagbemi, on how to explore opportunities for collaboration with the board.
In his keynote address, the Registrar of the DTRBN, Mallam Idris Bappah, congratulated Dr. Fagbemi on his appointment as the chairman of the board.
He praised the wealth of experience of the chairman, which has been reflecting in the discharge of his duty to the board and the health family in particular.
Mallam Bappah appealed for an increase in the number of student internships into the board to foster a strong relationship between the Dental Registration Board of Nigeria and the OYSHMB.
He pleaded with the board for training and retraining of Dental Technologists in the board to enhance and improve their service delivery to customers (patients).
He further clamored for the involvement of Dental Technologists in recruitment and decision-making in the board.
The chairman of the board (OYSHMB), Dr. Fagbemi, in his response, said Dental Technologists played a vital role in healthcare services to the state.
Dr. Fagbemi further stated that His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, does not compromise on healthcare delivery to the good citizens of Oyo State under the sustainable healthcare system tagged Omi-Tuntun 2.0.
The Permanent Secretary in the board, Dr. Mrs. Anifat Ibraheem, appreciated the Dental Technologist and his team for their visit and reassured the board (DTRBN) of the support of OYSHMB anytime the need arises.
In the entourage with the chairman of DTRBN, Mallam Idris Bappah, were Alh. Gbadamosi AbdulAzeez of the Faculty of Dentist, College of Medicine, UCH, Ibadan, and Mr. Isola Oluwole, the current chairman of the DTRBN, Oyo State chapter.
