It was a joyous occasion for volunteers from all 33 local government areas of Oyo State as they gathered in large numbers for a strategic community service event in honor of Prince Adeyemo Adedeji Ola, the Special Assistant on Political Matters to Governor Seyi Makinde. The event, which was a collaborative effort with the Oyo State Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), was well-attended by various influential personalities from different walks of life.

Volunteers, alongside OYRTMA officials, were seen actively controlling traffic and enforcing traffic regulations at key junctions across Oyo State. This unique birthday community service is not a new tradition for Deji Ola; since 2018, he has marked his birthday with special events aimed at giving back to his community. Last year, he organized an environmental sanitation drive, along with friends and other volunteers, and also coordinated initiatives such as clothing drives for the needy and a food bank.
While interacting with passersby, Mr. Sadiq Olanrewaju praised the efforts of the group, noting that the strategic approach to community service was a remarkable and inspiring initiative that others should emulate. “I have never thought about mobilizing people for community service in connection with my birthday celebration before,” he remarked.

In his closing remarks, Deji Ola expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the OYRTMA officials, the volunteers, and everyone who contributed to the success of the impactful community event.
He acknowledged that the initiative would not have been possible without their dedication, resilience, and genuine commitment. He also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for creating an enabling environment that fosters growth and provides opportunities for people to positively impact their communities.
