A Member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has welcomed the court ruling upholding the already concluded 2025 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which held in Ibadan, describing it as a major relief and validation of due process.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Media Group, which was made available to journalists in Ibadan, Agboworin said the judgment has put to rest all legal doubts surrounding the convention, affirming the legitimacy of the decisions and outcomes reached at the party’s national gathering.
The lawmaker noted that the ruling will further strengthen confidence in the PDP’s internal democratic processes.

Agboworin, a two-term lawmaker, congratulated Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Seyi Makinde, for what he described as exemplary leadership and commitment to the rule of law before, during, and after the convention.

According to him, “the court’s decision serves as a clear vindication of the governor’s position and the collective resolve of party leaders to do things the right way.”
Agboworin also commended the judiciary for standing firm in the defence of justice, stressing that the verdict reinforces the sanctity of democratic institutions and political stability.

“The court’s ruling is a clear affirmation that the 2025 PDP National Convention held in Ibadan was valid and properly conducted.

“The judgment today is a victory for the party, democracy, and all stakeholders who believe in due process,” Agboworin stated in the statement.
He, however, urged PDP members across the country to remain united, respect the outcome of the convention, and focus on strengthening the party ahead of future political engagements, noting that the PDP is better positioned to move forward with clarity and renewed purpose.
