As the New Year begins, the Okanlomo Oodu, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has sent a message of goodwill, calling for unity, responsible leadership and renewed commitment to community development.

In his New Year address, Chief Sanusi reflected on the passing year, describing it as a period that tested collective strength while also reinforcing the importance of togetherness and shared responsibility.
He noted that sustainable progress can only be achieved when leaders and citizens work with sincerity and mutual respect.

“The New Year offers us a fresh opportunity to strengthen our bonds and recommit ourselves to the values that define us as a people. Unity, discipline and service must remain at the heart of our aspirations,” he said.


The Okanlomo Oodu reaffirmed his dedication to inclusive leadership, stressing that development must be people-focused and driven by fairness, dialogue and respect for tradition.
He emphasised the need for cooperation across all levels to ensure lasting peace and economic stability, adding that: “Leadership is a sacred trust. My resolve in this New Year is to continue serving with integrity, listening to all voices and pursuing policies and actions that promote shared prosperity.”
Chief Sanusi also spoke directly to the youth, encouraging them to embrace education, innovation and positive engagement as tools for personal growth and community advancement.

“Our young people carry the promise of tomorrow,” he said. “With the right guidance and commitment, they will build a future that honours our heritage and meets the demands of a changing world.”
Chief Sanusi offered prayers for good health, peace and progress in the year ahead, urging everyone to uphold harmony and collective responsibility.
