A member representing Ibadan North West State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Dawood Olalere has called successful individuals to return to their respective elementary, secondary and higher institutions to give hope, nurture young minds for the future.

He stated this during the ” Catch Them Young Initiative” Campaign held at Chief Agbaje Memorial Primary School, Ayeye-Agbaje, Ibadan on Thursday.
The medical laboratory expert cum lawmaker explained the significance in education for nation building and talent development.

Hon. Olalere, fondly called “D-Al-ameen” noted that most successful individuals in Nigeria attended public education institutions, adding that through focus, dedication and discipline they achieved their respective dreams.


The lawmaker who said he sponsored his secondary and higher educations, attended Chief Agbaje Memorial School, Ayeye in Ibadan, charging young children never to consider their parents’ poor economic background for success.
” Not just that I became who I am magically. No. I started like you here. In fact, all my life I attended public schools. But, I learned to remain focused, dedicated and work into the future. Today, I have had my first degree in Medical Laboratory Science from the University College Hospital in conjunction with the University of Ibadan, a Master’s degree from Ambrose Alli University, and even an honourary doctorate degree in Public Health. I have my own medical outfit, known as D-Al-Ameen Diagnostic Hospital, and now a member representing Ibadan North West State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly. You can do more than this”, he said.

In his contribution, Education Secretary, Ibadan North West Local Government Area, Hon. Ayoade David believed the young children are future of tomorrow, calling them to protect their dreams jealously.

Meanwhile, the Media Co-ordinator, Bright Lens Media Networks initiator of “Catch Them Young Initiative” , Mrs. Ayodeni Aluko called parents to support their children’s education through provision of adequate materials including socks, books, pens, even co-operating with both the school teachers and government for a functional education.
The weekly campaign featured distribution of writing books to all pupils in the school, snacks, souvenirs, two solar lights, and inauguration of six societies in the school including JETS, Health, Security, Environment, Press and Quiz and Literary Debate to be led by, SALAHUDEEN NASIRUDEEN, Adebayo Salami, Ijaya Hawau, Muideen Wareez, Taoreed Malik, Abdulrahmon Latifat respectively.
