In recognition of his remarkable contributions to societal growth and democratic advancement, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, FCA, the Aare Egbe-Omo Balogun of Ibadanland who is also the patron of Nigeria Union of Journalist Oyo State Chapter, has been honoured with an Award of Honour by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council.

The award, presented during a special recognition event in Ibadan, celebrated Adegoke’s exemplary leadership, philanthropy, and unwavering commitment to nation-building. The NUJ described him as “a distinguished son of Ibadanland whose influence extends beyond business and community service to the promotion of democracy and human capacity development.”
As part of his continued support for social and developmental progress, Olooye Adegoke announced a ₦10 million donation to the journalists in Oyo State in addition to his usual gesture.

It was recalled that philanthropist has previously donated to the media organisations in Oyo State for efficiency and effectiveness coupled with his position of Chairman, Solutions 93.9 FM Ibadan, a media outfit which serves a remedy to the populists.


In his remarks, Adegoke expressed gratitude to the NUJ for the honour, describing it as “a call to do more for humanity.” He reaffirmed his belief that leadership is not about titles or positions but about service, integrity, and the ability to make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
He also commended journalists across Oyo State for their professionalism, courage, and contribution to deepening democracy, urging them to continue upholding the ethics of truth and objectivity in their practice.
The event drew prominent personalities from various sectors, including government officials, traditional leaders, youth representatives, and members of the media community, all of whom applauded Adegoke’s enduring legacy of service and generosity.
