Popular Islamic musician, Alhaji Ibraheem Abdulhameed Labaeka, has resigned his appointment as Special Assistant, Artiste, to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State.
Labaeka cited that he couldn’t continue to receive a salary for doing nothing, as it goes against his beliefs as an Islamic cleric.
In a letter dated September 12, 2024, addressed to the Governor, Labaeka stated that he accepted the appointment to serve and showcase his talents, but unfortunately, circumstances didn’t avail him the opportunity to perform his responsibilities maximally.
He expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and hoped to utilize his talents for the state’s development in the future.
Labaeka’s resignation takes effect immediately, with a request to stop his salary payments.
