As a show of reward for dedicated service and commitment to legislative excellence that has enhanced robust relationship between the parliament and executives, the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, has presented a brand-new Toyota Corolla to the Leader of the Legislative House, Honorable Taofeek Azeez

This was as the Council boss also donated a brand new 18-seater bus to the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Oluyole chapter.
The Oyo state deputy governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, represented by his wife, Mrs. Ajibola Ajibike Lawal, presented the two vehicles to the beneficiaries today.

The double donation which held at the LG Secretariat, Idi-alayunre today, formed part of activities marking Engr. Olatunji’s one year in office, albeit belated.

Recall that the Council boss, who assumed office in May 2024, was away in Saudi Arabia on holy pilgrimage during the official anniversary date, making it impossible to celebrate the milestone at the time.

The deputy governor commended Olatunji for being a shining light as a visionary and pragmatic leader who has continued to replicate the laudable projects at the state in his local government.
He assured that the administration of governor Seyi Makinde will continue to support and collaborate with excellence at all levels to continue bring about the desired dividend of democracy to the people.

Speaking at the symbolic handover event today, Olatunji said the gesture was a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to rewarding dedication and promoting institutional efficiency within the local government system.
“Leadership is about teamwork. It is only right that those who work day and night to support the vision and mission of this government are empowered to do even more,” Olatunji said.
The Legislative Leader, whose legislative competence and cooperation with the executive arm has been lauded in recent months, was visibly elated as he received the brand-new Toyota Corolla.
Council insiders say the gesture also symbolizes a smooth executive-legislative relationship, which has contributed significantly to the developmental strides in Oluyole within the past year.
In a separate presentation, the council handed over an 18-seater bus to NULGE. The donation was received by union leaders who hailed the Chairman for his workers-friendly policies and open-door approach.
The provision of the vehicle, they said, would enhance NULGE’s logistical capacity, particularly in coordinating staff welfare, trainings, and inter-local government engagements.
This is not the first time the union is benefiting from such magnanimity. The Oyo State Government had similarly donated 18-seater buses to both the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and NULGE in January 2021, signaling a tradition of governmental support for local government employees across the state.
The timing and nature of the donations are widely applauded as strategic thereby, reaffirming Olatunji’s style of governance that values collaboration, reward for performance, and efficient service delivery.
Notable personalities including former House of Representatives member, His Royal Majesty, Oba Hamidu Ajibade led all other traditional council members in Oluyole to the event.
Others are leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), League of Imams and Alfas in Oluyole LG, pensioner, Nigerian Union of Teachers, Oluyole market leaders, PDP leaders and members among others graced the event
