Breaking: Jubilation As Gov. Makinde Releases Promotion Letters To Workers
The Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Aderemi Ayodele has announced the release of year 2022 promotion letters to the qualified eligible officers in the local government service of Oyo State sequel to the magnanimous approval of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.
The Chairman stated that the issuance of letters of promotion to the deserving local government workers is in accordance with the state government policy of clearing the backlogs of staff promotions in the service since year 2017.
Dr. Ayodele made this known at the commission’s secretariat during the dispatch of the first batch of the promotion letters to the beneficiaries across the 33 LG and the 35 LCDA in the state.
The Chairman disclosed that within the five years of Governor Makinde administration, over 10,000 eligible officers have earned multiple promotions in the local government service alone, having fulfilled the pre-conditions for promotion and performed creditably well during the three major promotion exercise conducted by the Commission for local government personnel whose promotion were in arrears since 2017.
This he described as a significant accomplishment, which he said was the first in the history of the service. He added that the consistent promotion exercise, as approved by the present administration, has put an end to a situation whereby retired staff had to attend promotion interview to earn their outstanding promotions after leaving the service.
This great feat is to the credit of Governor Seyi Makinde, for his consistency and determined efforts to ensure that all categories of government employees earn their promotions as and when due, the Chairman declared.
Also speaking in the same vain, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Deacon Taiwo Adewale strongly advised the civil/public servants, particularly, the local government staff to rededicate themselves to the service by discharging their duties diligently.
The Permanent Secretary, noted that Governor Makinde has given pep to the service through good incentives, which in turn has lifted the morale of the workers in the state. He thus noted that the entire workforce in the state can testify to the milestone attained in the Civil/Public Service in the past five years of the administration.
