The Oyo State Youth Parliament has applauded the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for the unquantifiable and unbeatable leadership roles he is known for as also evidenced in the disastrous Bodija blast of Tuesday. The explosion that wreaked havoc on lives and properties of the people of Dejo Oyelese Close, Adeyi Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan had also left scores injured and recuperating at the UCH Hospital.

In a press statement made available to this online news medium by Joshua Ojo Akin – the Chief Whip of the frontline Youth representatives in the State, the Speaker – Rt. Hon. Israel Opeyemi Fawole was quoted as saying:
_“It is basically mind-blowing that on the same Tuesday night of this worrisome explosion, not minding the potential boomerang that may occur at the site, His Excellency could not rest until he had to visit the scene of the explosion barely a few moments after the blast to identify with and oversee the evacuation exercise of the victims.”_

_“His Excellency also directed that the medical bills of all victims be covered by the government and on the following morning of wednesday, accordingly arranged for the lodging and adequate welfarism of the other victims that were rendered homeless by the unfortunate disaster both at the Carlton Gate and 77 Palms Hotels temporarily pending the time they will find their feets and move on with their lives.”_

_”To crown the succour efforts of His Excellency up, he had earlier today in Abuja presented the report of the explosion to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for further processes and comprehensive interventions to forestall future reoccurrences.”_

_“As the youth Parliament platform is known as a training ground for potential leaders, these are the kind of responsive and responsible leadership acumen that we are learning from our darling Governor and father to the fatherless.”_ Fawole concluded.

Be reminded that, the Oyo State Youth Parliament is a Government-structured and inaugurated non-political Youth Assembly from all the 32 State Constituencies of the State under the tutelage of the Oyo State House of Assembly (OYHA), and directly under the Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, a non-parsan umbrella body for the State Youths created in Compliance with the United Nation Charter on Youths Development as a platform through which youth voices could be heard on government policies that affects them directly.
