In a grand ceremony held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, on Tuesday, the First Lady of Oyo State, Her Excellency Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, was among several distinguished engineers conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).

The event celebrated the exceptional contributions of these eminent professionals to the engineering field and marked a significant milestone in advancing engineering excellence in Nigeria.
The ceremony was presided over by the President and Chairman‑in‑Council of the NSE, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, FNSChE—the 34th President and the first female President of the Society.

In her congratulatory message, Hon. Bisi Oluranti Micheal, the lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North State Constituity, who accompanied the First Lady, described Engr. Tamunominini Makinde as an emissary and purveyor of ethical leadership and integrity in engineering practice. She noted that the Oyo First Lady has a unique responsibility to exemplify engineering values and serve as a guardian of professional standards.


The lawmaker added that Mrs. Makinde’s voice, influence, and expertise will be instrumental in shaping policies, mentoring young engineers, and advocating for a stronger engineering profession in Nigeria.
Hon. Bisi Oluranti further said the conferment is a shining acknowledgment of Mrs. Makinde’s exceptional expertise, unwavering dedication, and profound impact on the engineering field, expressing pride and inspiration at this remarkable milestone.
