Residents of Ibadan and its environs gathered in large numbers to benefit from the Mega Skills Empowerment Programme (MSEP 2026) organized by Prince Adeyemo Adedeji Ola as part of activities marking his birthday celebration.

The empowerment programme, which attracted enthusiastic participants from across Oyo State, provided hands-on training in Soap Production, Adire Production, Vaseline Production, Agribusiness, Digital Marketing, and Bead Making, all aimed at equipping participants with practical skills for self-reliance and economic growth.
From the early hours of the day, the venue witnessed an influx of eager participants who demonstrated keen interest in learning new vocational skills that could open doors to sustainable livelihoods.

Speaking during the opening session, the convener, Prince Adeyemo Adedeji Ola, appreciated the facilitators, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the success of the initiative. He emphasized that the programme was designed as a way of giving back to society and empowering citizens with practical tools for economic independence.

Ola also dedicated the success of the initiative to the leadership and enabling environment provided by the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, whose administration he described as people-centered and supportive of youth-driven initiatives. He further appreciated the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, for his continued encouragement and support, noting that his mentorship and guidance have significantly shaped his career and personal growth beyond the sphere of governance.
According to Ola, the opportunity to serve and impact lives through such initiatives is one he does not take for granted.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Ibikunoluwa, praised the celebrant for the thoughtful initiative and called on other well-meaning individuals in society to emulate such acts of service. She noted that celebrations should not only be about parties but also about creating meaningful impact in the lives of others.

She particularly highlighted the Adire Production training, stating that the practical session opened her eyes to viable business opportunities.
“I never knew the process of producing Adire could be this simple and affordable to start. This training has changed my perspective and given me hope,” she said.
At the end of the training sessions, participants expressed excitement and appreciation for the opportunity. Successful trainees were issued Certificates of Participation and connected with their trainers for continued mentorship and follow-up support.
Deji also revealed that the empowerment programme is only the beginning of several upcoming initiatives. He urged young people and students across Oyo State to stay engaged, announcing that free CBT training for prospective JAMB candidates and special tutorial sessions for students in critical classes will commence in the coming weeks.
He reiterated his commitment to continuously creating platforms that promote education, skills development, and economic empowerment for young people across the state.
