Member representing Akinyele Constituency 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Establishment, Training and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Abiola Monsuru Olalekan, has extended warm birthday greetings to Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, describing her as a quintessential mother, an astute leader, and a highly cerebral politician.
In a goodwill message released on Tuesday, Hon. Olalekan praised the trailblazing political icon for her exceptional service to Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
He highlighted Senator Sunmonu’s remarkable journey through various high-profile political roles, including her tenure as the first female Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, first female Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, and her more recent service as a Member of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC).
“Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu is a mother in every sense of the word,” Hon. Olalekan stated. “Her nurturing spirit, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of others have endeared her to many of us across party lines.”
