Birthday: He’s a well grounded grassroots politician – Olatunji hails Oyo lawmaker, Hon. Mabaje

Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has hailed lawmaker representing Ido state constitutional at the Oyo state House of Assembly, describing him as a well grounded grassroots politician and a committed parliamentarian.

Olatunji stated this on Monday, December 15, in a congratulatory message to felicitate the lawmaker on the occasion of his birthday anniversary celebration.

The Council boss also noted that Mabaje’s political career has been characterized by service and consistency at both party and government levels.

He said Mabaje’s political journey also reflects a deep understanding of the people he represents, maintaining that his strength has always been his closeness to the grassroots and his ability to translate local concerns into legislative action.

According to him, Hon. Mabaje, a two term member of the Oyo State House of Assembly has remained steadfast in his responsibilities, which he said has earned him respect across party lines for his calm approach, accessibility and dedication to constituency matters.

“Hon. Rasaq Mabaje, even though, young, is not a fair weather politician as far as Ido LG is concerned. He is well grounded, tested and deeply rooted in the grassroots.

“As a lawmaker, he has shown uncommon commitment to the ideals of good representation and responsive governance at both party and government levels,” the chairman said.

He added that the lawmaker’s years in the Assembly have been defined by consistent engagement with constituents, support for grassroots community driven initiatives and active participation as a team player in legislative processes that promote development and inclusive governance in Oyo State.

The Oluyole LG chairman further noted that Mabaje’s relationship with his constituents has remained strong because he listens, consults widely and prioritizes the everyday realities of the people, while describing these qualities as increasingly rare but essential in public service.

While wishing the lawmaker a happy birthday, he prayed for good health, wisdom and renewed strength to continue serving the people of Ido State Constituency and Oyo State at large.

He also urged younger politicians to draw lessons from Mabaje’s political conduct, stressing that sustainable leadership is built on humility, consistency and genuine connection with the people, not just electoral success.
