Today is the birthday of a man who is larger in professional and career statuses but simple in his outlooks to life and living. He is no other person than Dr Kazeem Adeduntan, the immediate former MD/CEO, First Bank PLC.
He’s an exemplary lesson in humility, simplicity and a near Spartan life.
As someone who held sway in arguably the largest, the biggest and the wealthiest bank in Nigeria, he would not evoke any air of authority.
As an Ibadan man, he prides himself in his connection with his roots and always ready to roll-up his sleeves on anything Ibadan and his people and gleefully identifies with them.
As a Muslim, he is devout to a fault, also very respectful of other people’s choice of belief, a trait that warms him up to all his acquaintances.
It’s for the above reasons that I have found him worthy of celebration on his birthday.
As he grows older, may Allah bless him with wealths of excellent health, of more devotion to Islam, of prosperity that endures and of longer years on earth.
