*Best Legacy College matriculates 333 students as 103 get scholarship from Dr. John Adisa Oke*
It was an epoch-making event, on Saturday, as a NCE-Awarding institution, Best Legacy College of Education, Ogbomoso held its annual Matriculation and Convocation ceremonies.
According to information obtained by MOUTHPIECE NGR, about 333 students were matriculated for the 2023–2024 academic year at the ceremony held on the school grounds, and 219 graduates received National Certificates in Education (NCE).
Best Legacy College of Education which is the first private owned institution in Ogbomoso, founded in the year 2007 with the approval from National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Abuja, has graduated over 8,000 students over the past years.
The Chief imam of Ogbomoso land, Sheikh Taliat Aiylara, who is one of the invited guests, congratulated the fresh students and graduates.
He stated that academics in the higher institutions require commitment and dedication hence the need for the students to stay away from activities that can distract them but focus mainly on their studies.
In his words, “It’s not easy to start but every journey that starts will definitely end. So, I congratulate you on your matriculation ceremony and I wish you all the best.
“And to the graduating students, I urge you to try as much as possible to make good use of your results to proceed in life.”
The founder of the institution, Dr. John Abisoye Adisa Oke, who dolled out scholarship to about 103 matriculated students, noted that the institution has pride itself on academic excellence advising the students not to let their parents down but to complete their education with excellent performance.
According to him, education is the best legacy and the gateway to anything you want to become in life. So, it is also important to avail yourself vocational training such hairdressing, tailoring, barring, cake baking among others to support the western education.
“Without quality education, we can’t commit to the society”, he added.
The Director however advised the graduating students to be good ambassador of the college in any capacity they may find themselves.
Narrating how she graduated with flying color, the best graduating student,
Ogundele Opeyemi, who is the best graduating student, narrated how she excelled in her class by always reading throughout the night with the help of her parents.
She added that she worked extremely hard to come top in the class whilst appreciating the support of her lecturers.
Cash and a certificate of honor were presented to Opeyemi and other graduates who performed excellently well in their academics.
