Charles Obioha Ogbonnaya, the Abia State coordinator for the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization in 2023, has expressed his doubts about Atiku Abubakar’s suitability for the presidency had he won the previous year’s election.
In an interview with Daily Sun on Sunday, Ogbonnaya revealed that he would not be endorsing Atiku for the 2027 general elections.
Ogbonnaya criticized Atiku for distributing funds to his campaign coordinators across all 36 states without seeking an account of how the money was utilized.
He argued that this lack of oversight raised concerns about Atiku’s presidential capabilities based on that singular action.
He firmly stated his stance against supporting Atiku, emphasizing his disappointment with the former presidential candidate’s approach and decision-making. Despite his historical support for Atiku, Ogbonnaya highlighted his admiration for Tinubu as a more skilled politician, pointing out the structures and strategies put in place by Tinubu that have endured over time.
