The Executive Adviser on International Development Cooperation and Director-General of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), Dr. Debo Akande to His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, has assured that Oyo State will soon establish an Agricultural Equipment Museum to showcase innovative locally fabricated technologies and create an opportunities for learning by younger engineer and agriculturist that will lead to better developed scientifically backed indegenous fabricated agricultural equipment that is currently a major issue on agricultural development today .

Dr. Akande gave the assurance while receiving a delegation of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) across Nigeria led by their president, Engr. Dr. Adebisi R. Osim, FNSE, FNICE, on Thursday 25, September, 2025
Welcoming the engineers, Dr. Akande congratulated them for venturing into engineering, describing it as a tough but rewarding profession. He encouraged the women to remain trailblazers, noting that their ingenuity will play a vital role in driving the nation’s Agribusiness sector.

He explained that the planned Agricultural Equipment Museum would not only showcase locally fabricated implements but also encourage the integration of digital and modern technologies into Agricultural production. According to him, Oyo State under Governor Makinde’s leadership—himself an engineer, alongside his wife, Engr. (Mrs.) Tamunominini Makinde, FNSE—will continue to set the pace for other sub national governments.


“We want the world to see what our engineers are producing in our local communities. This museum will be a hub of innovation, where the new generation can create digital solutions for Agricultural equipment and open opportunities for global patronage,” Dr. Akande said.
Speaking on behalf of APWEN, President Engr. Dr. Adebisi R. Osim commended Governor Makinde for his visionary leadership and for entrusting OYSADA into the capable hands of Dr. Akande. She noted that the governor’s re-engineering of Oyo State’s governance structure is already yielding visible results.
“Indeed, revitalizing Nigeria’s manufacturing sector through innovative engineering solutions is not a joke but a necessity. We believe Oyo State will continue to set the pace for others in Agribusiness and industrial development,” she stated.

The visit underscored the role of professional women engineers in national development and highlighted the synergy between engineering innovation and Agribusiness transformation in Oyo State.
