Ipapo, Oyo State – In a solemn yet spirited assembly that echoed through the hills of Oke-Ogun, over 300 Islamic scholars, community leaders, traditional custodians and Citizens gathered on Sunday at the country home of Amofin Beulah Adeoye in Ipapo, Itesiwaju Local Government Area, on Sunday, 27 July 2025 for an extraordinary convergence of prayer, purpose, and unity.

At the heart of the gathering was a reverent recitation of the complete Holy Qur’an — a rare spiritual undertaking symbolising purification, divine guidance, and collective supplication.
The sacred verses, carried on the voices of devoted clerics, served as an invocation of peace and blessings for Governor Seyi Makinde, for the people of Oyo State, and for the enduring harmony of the Oke-Ogun region.

The event was convened under the auspices of the Oke-Ogun League of Imams and Alfas, an esteemed body representing Islamic scholars from across the 10 local government areas of Oke-Ogun. Their arrival — led by the venerable Eleyinpo of Ipapo, His Royal Majesty Oba Yekeen Adisa Abioye — turned Ipapo into a spiritual crossroads where faith met public service, and tradition bowed in reverence to peace.

Speaking with regal clarity, Oba Abioye praised the host, Amofin Beulah Adeoye, for his lifelong commitment to humanity across religious and ethnic divides.

“He is not merely a son of Oke-Ogun,” the monarch declared, “but a vessel of goodwill — steadfast in his love for this land, and tireless in service to all people, regardless of creed.”
Imam Muftau Sodiq Dangajia, Chief Host and a revered scholar in the region, welcomed the clerics and dignitaries, urging the Ummah to remain unwavering in promoting peace, unity, and interfaith cooperation.

He underscored the importance of spiritual leadership in reinforcing the foundation of a society rooted in love, accountability, and equity.
Also present were:
Alhaji Rasheed Ako, Chairman, Muslim Community of Itesiwaju LGA, who affirmed that Amofin Adeoye’s philanthropic outreach has “touched countless lives in quiet, enduring ways.”
*Sheikh Abdul Rafiu Mohamed Jamiu Oloko* (Badru Zaman Atewogba 1 Saki), who preached the sermon for the day, reflected deeply on the gathering’s moral purpose, describing it as “an altar of renewal for Oyo State’s collective soul.” In his address, he identified that the Almighty had blessed us richly and it was incumbent on all to do their part while in transit through earth.
Alhaji Uthman, Mufassir of Ipapoland, who led the final prayer session with a heartfelt plea to the Almighty: “Ya Allah, continue to bless Governor Makinde with wisdom, strength, and courage to lead justly. Let Oyo State know the peace that surpasses all understanding. Let Oke-Ogun shine as a beacon of harmony.” Prayers were said for the continued progress of Oyo State under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, prayers were also said for the leaders and people of Oyo state and for the people of Ipapo. Special prayers were said for Amofin Beulah Adeoye and his family as well.
Amofin Adeoye, visibly moved by the presence of such a broad coalition of spiritual and traditional leaders, expressed his gratitude with humility. “Today,” he said, “we did not gather for man, but for mercy. We are gathered for spiritual alignment with God’s will. May our prayers rise like incense, and may our beloved Oyo State prosper under heaven’s hand.” The unity on display — among scholars, elders, youth, and royals — sent a quiet but unshakable message: that the strength of Oyo lies not only in its history or politics, but in the shared prayers of its people. Amofin Beulah Adeoye was particularly elated that many of the Clerics and leaders had planned engagements elsewhere but found the time within their schedules to attend the prayer session.
As the Qur’anic recitation closed and the sun dipped gently behind the Ipapo hills, a stillness lingered. It was the stillness of a people reminded of their purpose — bound by faith, guided by hope, and committed to peace.
