As part of actionable plan to bolster economic growth and provide enhanced security, Oluyole Local Government has concluded arrangements to host a high-profile summit on Wednesday, October 30.
The Executive Chairman of Oluyole local government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, October 28.
The Council boss stated that arrangements have been concluded to host top officials in the government of Governor Seyi Makinde, economic and security stakeholders, captains of industries, traditional rulers, religious leaders and all relevant institutions.
According to the statement, the summit was being organized put together for key players across all sectors and industries to discuss strategies for sustainable economic development and security of Oluyole local government.
Olatunji said the idea was to have a clear economic blueprint to guide policy formulation and implementation as well as project priority and execution in line with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde for grassroots development.
He explained that resolutions reached at the end of the summit would be a product of a collective decision which deepens inclusivity with a clear sense of direction and purpose.
“The summit is part of our strategic plans to put Oluyole on the spotlight for economic growth and enhanced security in Oyo state. It is going to be an event where key players, economic and security stakeholders will brainstorm and chart a new course of action.
“We have vast arable land for agriculture, agribusiness, and vast expanse of land for real estate. Oluyole, with an Area of 629 km² and about 4000 square meter, is certainly among the largest local governments in Oyo state in terms of land mass, so, we have no business with low-size economic base.
“The summit will take cursory assessment of our strength and weaknesses, as well as carry out a comparative analysis for us to be able to leverage on technology to drive and economic and security agenda.” Olatunji said.
Furthermore, Olatunji stressed the need for strategic collaboration between the government and critical stakeholders to tackle pressing economic challenges and improve security measures.
Olatunji also expressed optimism about the future of Oluyole, saying “Together, we can create a prosperous and secure environment that benefits all our residents.”
