The Ibadan South West Local Government Chairman, Honourable Kehinde Akande, has sounded a strong warning to students, advising them to steer clear of cultism and other vices that could jeopardise their future. Akande’s appeal aligns with efforts by authorities to combat cultism in schools, with stakeholders urging collaboration among students, parents, and guardians to foster a safe learning environment.

Honourable Akande’s warning aligns with the Ministry of Education’s efforts to curb cultism in schools. The Local Inspection Officer, LIE in Ibadan South West Local Government also urged parents and guardians to play a more active role in monitoring their children and wards, discouraging them from getting involved in unlawful associations. This collaborative effort aims to promote a safer and more conducive learning environment for students in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area.
The event, “National Campaign Against Cultism in Secondary Schools”, featured stakeholders and community leaders emphasising the need for collective action to curb cultism in schools. They highlighted the devastating impact of cultism on students’ lives and futures, urging students to focus on their education and personal development instead.

The collaborative effort between Ibadan South West Local Government and Operation Campus Storm (OCS) aims to raise awareness and promote a culture of peace and safety in schools. The campaign also provided students with resources and support to help them resist cult recruitment and stay on track with their studies.
