In a display of deep respect, gratitude, and cultural reverence, Dr Akande Babatunde Kazeem mni and his spouse paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, at his palace in Ibadan yesterday.

During the warmly received visit, Dr Akande formally presented his certificate as a Member of the National Institute (mni), the prestigious fellowship awarded by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State. The mni designation recognizes excellence in policy formulation, strategic leadership, and national development.
Dr. Akande expressed profound appreciation to the revered monarch for his unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement throughout his rigorous sojourn and participation in the Senior Executive Course (SEC 47, 2025) at NIPSS. He acknowledged Oba Ladoja’s fatherly role and wise counsel, which contributed significantly to his successful completion of the program.

The Olubadan, in his characteristic wisdom and royal grace, congratulated Dr Akande on this outstanding professional milestone, describing the mni as “a badge of national service and intellectual distinction.” Kabiyesi prayed for continued success, wisdom, and greater service to Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.


The event was graced by the presence of several eminent Ibadan chiefs and dignitaries from the Olubadan-in-Council and other traditional title holders including Oba Kola Adegbola, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola and others who witnessed the presentation and joined in the celebration of Dr Akande’s achievement.
This visit further strengthens the bond between traditional institutions and contemporary professional excellence, showcasing the Olubadan’s continued role as a pillar of support for indigenes pursuing national and international distinction.
