An educationist and Ekiti high Chief, Dr Kazeem Akande, has expressed sadness over the passing of Janet Adeagbo, the mother of the Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo.
According to Nigerian Tribune, she passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 87.
In a condolence message personally signed by him on Sunday, he described the deceased as “a graceful, peaceful, friendly, cheerful, and exceptionally kind lady; a very affectionate mother, devout Christian, and inspiring personality who deeply cared for the well-being and happiness of others and lived as an epitome of humility, hard work, faith, love for God, and service to humanity.”
Akande, the Asiwaju Ewe of Otun Ekiti, noted that they draw solace from the fact that she lived a fulfilled life, blessed with good health and God’s abundant grace, and left behind resounding legacies, including the legacy she bequeathed to the Otun Ekiti Kingdom.
“I believe that Oba Adeagbo’s commitment to duty towards the stability and growth of Otun Ekiti town stems from the virtues imparted in him by his mother,” Akande added.
The educationist urged the entire Adeagbo family to find consolation in the fine legacies of their matriarch.
He prayed for the repose of her soul and sought God’s comfort and strength for the family during this difficult time.
