The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the 30-day Ramadan fast.
Agboworin, who is also the Chairman, Committee on Narcotic Drugs, commended the Muslim faithful for their commitment, urging them to continue to uphold the right deeds, which the Holy Month has taught them.
He noted that the act of selflessness and unconditional love exhibited during the fast should be sustained, and equally continue to pray for peace and progress of the state and the country in general.
He urged them to dedicate themselves more to the teachings and lessons of Ramadan.
Agboworin, who gave the charge in a press statement signed by his Media Group on Wednesday and made available to journalists, said the godly lifestyle adopted by people during Ramadan would make the world a better place if adopted by everyone, even after the fast has been completed.
He, therefore, used the occasion to call for more sacrifice from the leaders and greater commitment to the welfare of the citizens.
The statement read, “I want to congratulate my Muslim fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters for the commitment they have shown during the just-concluded fast. May the reward come to us all speedily.
“Having completed the fasting, I like to encourage us not to relent in our prayers for the leaders and the nation. This is because I know that it is only through prayers and hard work that Nigeria can get out of the current crisis.
“I want us to know that the Godly lifestyle we all adopted during the holy month would make the world a better place if sustained by everyone, even after the fast has been completed.
“Lastly, let me use this occasion to call on our leaders to ensure they show greater commitment to the welfare of the populace.”
