The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has issued a warning to the public regarding cloned social media account impersonating him.
In a statement by his Media Group, which was circulated on Monday, Agboworin urged everyone to be cautious and not engage with the fake account using his picture and name to recommend support for empowerment fund.
The statement, however, advised members of the public to only engage with verified social media accounts and official channels of communication.
The statement read, “We have been made aware of a cloned account impersonating Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin) of recommending someone for empowerment fund.
“We assure the public that Rep. Agboworin’s official accounts are secure, and any communication purportedly from him on suspicious platforms should be treated with caution.
“Any WhatsApp message or social media post with my picture seeking financial support or recommending someone should be ignored and reported.
“While we appreciate the support of the people, we urge everyone to report any such incident to our team and the relevant social media platforms.”
