Member representing Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has taken another significant step in fulfilling his campaign promise to improve essential infrastructure in his constituency.
The two term lawmaker, who is also the Chairman House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, has begun the installation of solar light installations in all the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in his constituency.
This development is following a recent project he just completed, where he installed an additional 1,100 units of solar lights in all the 24 wards in the constituency.
The ongoing project is aimed at covering the 19 PHCs in the North East local government and 15 PHCs in the South East local government areas of the constituency, making a total of 34 Primary Health Centres.
Those in the North East LGA include: Odo-Osun PHC (ward 1); Igbori-Efon PHC (ward 2); Kosodo PHC, (ward 3); Ajegunle PHC and Ile-Aperin PHC and Omowunmi PHC (ward 4); Alafara-Adeogba PHC (ward 5); Oje-Eleka PHC (ward 6); Atipe PHC (ward 7); Aremo PHC (ward 8); Lagelu-Ilupeju PHC (ward 9); Irefin PHC (ward 10); Akeke-Olorombo, Ifesowapo PHC and Iwo-Road PHC (ward 11); Oke-Ade PHC (ward 12).
The ones to be captured in the South East include Mapo Health Centre (ward 1); Omiyale PHC (ward 2); Oranyan PHC (ward3); Agbongbon PHC (ward 5); Elekuro PHC (ward 6); Orita-Aperin PHC (ward 7); Odinjo PHC (ward 8); Raji Akande PHC (ward 9); Owode PHC; Iyana-Court PHC and Balaro PHC (ward 10); Boluwaji PHC and Eyin Grammar PHC (ward 11); Felele PHC and Molete PHC (ward 12).
The ongoing installation at these PHCs is aimed at bolstering the security of the environments, which is in line with his agenda to make positive impact in the area of security as well as promoting a sense of safety for all.
Equally, the project has proven the commitment of Agboworin to improving the lives of his constituents, which is a fundamental aspect of community development.
With this initiative, delivery of adequate care would be enhanced as the pathways leading to the PHCs would be well-lit, contributing to accessibility of health services during night hours.
The development would also enhance delivery of adequate health care to the constituents who would be accessing the facilities for medical attention.
There is no doubt that Rep. Agboworin’s vision for a well-lit and accessible healthcare center would set a benchmark that will resonate within the constituency for years to come, illuminating the path for others to follow.
