In his continued commitment to strengthening security operations and supporting frontline officers, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has donated various utility and operational items to security agencies within his constituency.

The donation, which took place on Thursday, is part of Hon. Agboworin’s ongoing efforts to complement the strides of the Oyo State Government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde in building a safer and more secure state.
Benefiting agencies include the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Operation Burst, and the Amotekun Corps.

The items distributed comprise refrigerators, generating sets, printers, water dispensers, industrial fans, and other essential office and operational materials designed to aid the daily functions of the security agencies.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Agboworin emphasized the importance of supporting those who risk their lives to protect the people.
> “We must always remember our security agencies. They are doing an excellent job and deserve to be encouraged,” he said.
“Having served in the military, I understand the challenges they face daily. Imagine what would happen if our security officers decided to go on strike for just one week — the country would be in chaos. That is why I call on other well-meaning individuals and political leaders to support and motivate them in any way possible.”

Representing the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Ekanem Usen, commended Hon. Agboworin for the thoughtful intervention, describing it as a timely and impactful gesture.
> “We sincerely appreciate Hon. Agboworin for this generous support. He has carried out several empowerment programmes in the past, and this new contribution to the security sector further demonstrates his dedication to public service,” Usen said.
“These items are essential to enhance our operational effectiveness — before, during, and after field duties.”
Also speaking at the event, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security, CP Sunday Odukoya (rtd), applauded the lawmaker for aligning his initiative with Governor Makinde’s vision of a peaceful and secure Oyo State.
> “What Hon. Agboworin has done is highly commendable. If more public office holders emulate this effort, insecurity will be drastically reduced,” Odukoya noted.
“This initiative clearly reflects his shared passion with the governor for ensuring the safety and well-being of the people of Oyo State.”
Among the beneficiaries of the donation were the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters, State DSS Office, Operation Burst, Amotekun Corps, and several divisional and local security formations including Idi-Ape, Agugu, Felele, Idi-Aro, and Mapo, as well as the DSS and NSCDC offices in Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East Local Governments.
Hon. Agboworin reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to community development, peace, and security, assuring that his empowerment and support initiatives would continue across all sectors to improve the lives of his constituents.
> “Security is everyone’s business,” he concluded. “As representatives of the people, it is our duty to support those who protect us, and I will continue to do my part in ensuring a safer and better society for all.”
