The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious, has once again demonstrated his commitment to economic empowerment by distributing free POS machines to residents of Ona Ara.
This marks the second batch of distribution, following the initial phase launched last year to support small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) in the local government.
The initiative aims to boost financial inclusion, promote cashless transactions, and enhance economic activities within the community.
Additionally, in adherence to the directive of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, instructing public office holders and civil servants to wear Aso Oke on Thursdays to promote Yoruba cultural heritage, Dr. Temitope Glorious has fully complied, embracing this initiative as a way of preserving and showcasing the rich traditions of the people.
A statement signed by the Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, and made available to newsmen on Friday morning, confirmed Dr. Glorious’ unwavering support for Governor Makinde’s vision of economic empowerment and cultural renaissance.
Speaking on the dual initiative, Dr. Glorious reaffirmed his dedication to supporting local businesses, improving financial accessibility, and upholding the cultural identity of the Yoruba people.
He emphasized that these efforts align with the broader developmental agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, which prioritizes economic growth and cultural promotion.
The Ona Ara Local Government Chairman urged the new beneficiaries of the POS machines to maximize the opportunity by leveraging digital transactions for business growth. He also encouraged public office holders and civil servants to proudly wear Aso Oke every Thursday as a symbol of unity, tradition, and pride in Yoruba heritage.
Signed:
Mr. Rahmon Alawode
Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman,
Ona Ara Local Government.
