Former Commissioner for Works and Transport in Oyo State, Professor Abdul-Rahman Raphael Afonja, also known as PARA, has warmly congratulated Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (Don) on his victory in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election.
In a statement on Sunday, Afonja described the win as a testament to Oyekunle’s capacity, competence, and credibility, stressing that Oyo state belong to PDP.
He noted that Oyekunle’s victory reflects the people’s trust in his ability to deliver dividends of democracy. He praised the lawmaker’s service in the Oyo State House of Assembly, highlighting his commitment to constituents and loyalty to the PDP’s ideals.
Afonja equally attributed the victory to Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership, saying it demonstrates the party’s unity and strength under his able leadership.
While commending the Governor for building a legacy of competent leadership across Oyo State, the former commissioner maintained that His Excellency is positioning the PDP for future electoral successes.
Afonja expressed confidence that Hon. Don will serve the people with passion and purpose, enhancing the development of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
He congratulated the people of Ibadan North on reclaiming the federal constituency seat for the PDP, marking a significant milestone.
