(Dr.) Adebayo Adepoju, which has successfully passed through the House of Representatives with the bill number HB 799 and Senator Bamidele Michael Opeyemi, Senate Majority Leader, has also taken up the bill in the Senate, ensuring its smooth passage in line with the normal tradition of National Assembly. This strategic move ensures the bill’s smooth passage through the Senate.
This significant milestone marks a crucial step towards establishing a world-class medical facility in Igboora, Oyo State. Hon. Adepoju, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, represents the Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Constituency in Oyo State through his tireless efforts in championing the bill demonstrate his commitment to improving healthcare services in his constituency.
The Federal Medical Centre Igboora Establishment Bill took a significant step forward on July 18, 2023, when it was officially gazetted and published in the National Assembly of Nigeria’s journal. This milestone was followed by its first reading on the floor of the House of Representatives on November 1, 2023, thanks to the tireless efforts of Hon. (Dr.) Adebayo Adepoju. As the representative of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Dr. Adepoju has been championing the cause of improved healthcare services for his constituents. This bill aims to establish the first-ever federal medical centre in the Ibarapa region, providing access to efficient medical care services for the people.
With the bill’s passage in the House of Representatives and Senate Concurrently ,it will now head to the presidency for assent. This development brings the people of Igboora and surrounding communities closer to accessing quality medical care.
