In what has been described as a brazen subversion of democratic process and party integrity, sources from within the All Progressives Congress (APC) have revealed a shocking midnight conspiracy to impose Hon. Wale Olatunji Murphy as the APC candidate for the forthcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election, allegedly orchestrated by the Minister of Power, Hon. Adebayo Adelabu.

According to credible insider information, the Personal Assistant to the Minister, Mr. Ajiboye, was reportedly seen last night in company of the State APC Secretary, Alhaji Lanite, and Hon. Wale Murphy. The trio allegedly met with the Committee Chairman and Secretary responsible for conducting the party primary in a clandestine gathering where they singlehandedly drafted a delegate list, a list that has no known origin, no public validation, and no democratic backing.

Worse still, it is alleged that after compiling this mysterious delegate list, the masterminds chose to completely abandon the congress. No delegate congress, no voting, no transparency. Just a cold-blooded imposition. The order, according to sources, came directly from the Minister of Power: “Deliver Wale Murphy at all costs.”

This is not politics. This is not leadership. This is daylight political banditry, a betrayal of the APC’s core democratic ethos and a calculated insult to every loyal party member across the 351 wards of Oyo State.

Let it be known, this disgraceful episode is not merely about Ibadan North. It is about the soul of the APC in Oyo State. HM Bayo Adelabu, driven not by party interest but by personal vendetta, has shown he doesn’t care whether the APC wins the bye-election or not, his only aim is to spite and undermine the leadership of Senator Teslim Folarin, the Executive Chairman of FIRS, Zacch Adedeji, and Her Excellency, Dr. Florence Ajimobi. This isn’t just power play. It’s a reckless ego trip that risks dragging the entire party into an avoidable abyss.

By installing his stooge as the party’s flagbearer through the backdoor, Adelabu hopes to declare himself the de facto leader of the party in Oyo State. But at what cost? At the risk of further plunging OYO APC into internal war? At the expense of alienating party loyalists who have given their blood, sweat, and tears for its survival?

This is a dangerous precedent and a damning glimpse into what an Adelabu-led Oyo might look like: autocratic, arrogant, and allergic to fairness.

The question now is simple. Where does this madness lead us? If this impunity goes unchecked, if this travesty is allowed to stand, then the APC might as well hand Ibadan North to the PDP on a silver platter. And come 2027, the party might not even have a base to stand on in Oyo State.

Oyo APC must wake up from its slumber. The party cannot be hijacked by a man who has absolutely nothing to lose, not in the bye-election, not even in the gubernatorial contest he so desperately craves. The time to act is now. The time to say NO to manipulation, imposition, and treachery is now.

This is not leadership. This is political sabotage in disguise. And if Adelabu’s brand of jagba politics is allowed to prevail, OYO APC will soon find itself not just out of power but out of relevance
