In a bold and defining moment that has stirred widespread excitement across the Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji has officially declared his intention to represent the people at the House of Representatives, setting the stage for what many now see as a movement for transformation, hope, and purposeful leadership.

But beyond the declaration lies a compelling story, one of resilience, grassroots connection, proven capacity, and an unyielding commitment to service. Engr. Adedeji is not just another aspirant; he embodies a rare blend of experience, empathy, and vision that resonates deeply with the everyday realities of the people.

Born in Agbaje, Ijokodo in Ibadan, with ancestral roots in Lapade Village, his life journey reflects the very essence of the people he seeks to represent. Raised within the community, he understands firsthand the challenges, aspirations, and untapped potential of Ido/Ibarapa. This deep-rooted connection has shaped his passion for people-oriented leadership and sustainable development.

His academic and professional journey further reinforces his preparedness for the task ahead. From his early education at Polytechnic Staff School and Anwaru Islam Junior Secondary School to Wesley College of Science, Engr. Adedeji built a strong intellectual foundation that would later define his career. His pursuit of excellence took him to Lagos, where he obtained a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, before advancing to Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) for his Higher National Diploma. Not stopping there, he proceeded to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), earning a Postgraduate Diploma, clear evidence of his commitment to growth, knowledge, and innovation.

Yet, it is not just his academic achievements that set him apart. During his student years, Engr. Adedeji consistently demonstrated leadership and a passion for service. As Welfare Director and later Welfare Director (Hostel Affairs) at YABATECH, he was a strong advocate for student welfare and improved living conditions. His tenure as Secretary of the Students’ Association and Secretary of the Oyo State Students’ Association further showcased his administrative competence and ability to represent diverse interests effectively.

Professionally, he has made his mark in the Oil and Gas sector, contributing his technical expertise to critical operations while also thriving as an entrepreneur. As a COREN-certified engineer and member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, he brings not just experience but credibility, discipline, and adherence to global best practices. His active involvement in the Ibadan Recreational Club also reflects his social integration and accessibility within the community.

It is this rich blend of grassroots understanding, technical competence, and leadership experience that gives weight to his recent declaration.

Speaking during an engagement with key stakeholders, Engr. Adedeji captured the mood of the moment with a message that has since resonated across the constituency:

*“This is a defining moment for Ido/Ibarapa. Together, we can usher in a new era of progress, unity, and opportunity for all residents. My mission is to ensure every voice is heard, and every community thrives.”*

These are not mere words, they reflect a vision anchored on transformational leadership, inclusive governance, and sustainable development. His agenda prioritizes critical sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth empowerment, areas that directly impact the quality of life of the people.

Across communities, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Party leaders, stakeholders, and constituents alike have expressed growing confidence in his ability to deliver meaningful representation. Many see him as a beacon of hope, a leader who not only understands the people but is also equipped to translate their aspirations into tangible results.

Engr. Adedeji’s emergence at this crucial time signals more than a political ambition; it represents a collective yearning for a new kind of leadership, one that is transparent, accountable, and deeply committed to the people.

As the journey unfolds, he continues to emphasize inclusiveness, promising to carry the people along every step of the way. His campaign is not built on empty promises but on a track record of service, a clear vision for development, and a genuine desire to make a lasting impact.

Indeed, in Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, the people of Ido/Ibarapa are not just seeing a candidate, they are seeing a tested, trusted, and grassroots-bred leader ready to redefine representation and deliver a future marked by progress, unity, and shared prosperity.

And as his message echoes across the constituency, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: the time is now, and the people are ready.
