As a PR person and media aide to Honorable Folajimi Oyekunle, the deputy chief of staff, I’ve had the privilege of observing and experiencing his remarkable leadership style firsthand.

This write-up is not about politics; it’s a personal expression of my continuous experience and observation of his exceptional personality.

Unlike the late Chief MKO Abiola, a renowned businessman and politician known for his outgoing and flamboyant style, Honorable Oyekunle embodies the quiet and gentle philanthropic approach of Michael Adenuga.

While Abiola’s larger-than-life personality and generosity were publicly celebrated, Adenuga’s philanthropic efforts are often done discreetly, without seeking to draw attention to himself. Similarly, Honorable Oyekunle’s leadership style is reminiscent of Adenuga’s quiet confidence and humility.

Honorable Oyekunle’s commitment to empowering others is truly inspiring.

Recently, he empowered widows from Ibadan and North local government by providing financial assistance to set up businesses, creating employment opportunities for the youth, and establishing small businesses for women.

He has also supported skills acquisition programs, ensuring that individuals have the tools they need to succeed.

Moreover, his everyday financial support to vendors on a daily basis has been a testament to his kindness and generosity.

As his media aide, I’ve witnessed firsthand his unwavering dedication to serving others, often behind the scenes, without seeking recognition or accolades.

What strikes me most about Honorable Oyekunle is his humility and willingness to follow the mentorship of Governor Seyi Makinde.

He often cautions us against seeking to publicize his good deeds, emphasizing that doing good doesn’t require seeking attention.

He believes that true strength lies in serving others without seeking to draw attention to oneself, a philosophy that aligns with Governor Makinde’s leadership style.

In fact, I’ve noticed a “father and son” style of operation between Honorable Oyekunle and Governor Makinde.

Both leaders share a commitment to humility, simplicity, and service to others. Honorable Oyekunle’s leadership style is a testament to the impact of Governor Makinde’s mentorship and guidance.

I commend Honorable Folajimi Oyekunle for his remarkable approach to leadership and his unwavering commitment to the well-being of others. His legacy will undoubtedly be one of selflessness, humility, and dedication to the greater good.

In conclusion, my experience with Honorable Folajimi Oyekunle has taught me a valuable lesson in humility.

Regardless of one’s position or role, it’s essential to remain humble and focused on serving others.

Every position and opportunity is a test, and it’s how we utilize them that matters. Our actions speak louder than words, and true strength lies in serving others without seeking recognition or accolades.

I’ve learned that one need not seek to draw attention to oneself, as our actions will ultimately speak for us.

This is a principle that Honorable Oyekunle embodies, and one that I will carry with me in my own personal and professional journey.
