In a remarkable display of unity and community engagement, the 6th Annual Ramadan Lecture of the Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF) in Ibadan drew an impressive gathering of dignitaries, political leaders, artisans, and religious scholars, with Hon Ramata Agberemi Dabo (RAD), Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, adding color and excitement to the programme.

Held at Delight Estate, Lakuru Idi Ape Bus Stop along Olorunda Abaa Road, Akobo Ojurin, the lecture, themed “Destiny (Kadara)”, offered attendees an inspiring platform for spiritual reflection during the holy month of Ramadan. Hon RAD, a close associate of the Chief Host and Founder of OBF, Benedict Akika (Agba-Akin Olorunda), was warmly welcomed and played a notable role in ensuring the smooth flow of the programme.
Delivering the lecture, the Chief Mufaseer of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Usman Saanu Sheu, provided profound insights into the Islamic concept of destiny, emphasizing faith, patience, and righteous conduct as guiding principles for believers. Sheikh Sheu also lauded the leadership of Governor Makinde, noting how purposeful governance positively influences the lives of the people of Oyo State.

Hon RAD’s presence was particularly celebrated by attendees, as she engaged with guests, shared encouraging words and gifts, and supported the organiser in welcoming the various dignitaries. Her warm interaction and close ties with the founder added a personal and familial dimension to the event, strengthening the sense of unity and community among participants.

The lecture attracted prominent figures, including the Secretary to the State Government, Musibau Babatunde; the Deputy Chief of Staff, Adeyinka Adeniyi Bibire; local government chairmen from Egbeda, Akinyele, Lagelu, Oluyole, and Ogo-Oluwa; traditional rulers and Baales; as well as members of Muslim organisations including FOMWAN, Jamuiyat Soliat, and NBHA.
Chief Akika Benedict, the founder of OBF, expressed gratitude to Hon RAD and other dignitaries for their active participation, noting that their presence strengthened the spiritual and communal impact of the programme. “This lecture is not just about teaching or speaking; it’s about bringing our community together in faith, reflection, and unity,” he said.

The programme concluded on a high note, with prayers for peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth offered for the people of Oyo State and Nigeria at large. Participants described the event as a memorable and uplifting experience, highlighting the collaborative spirit between OBF, Hon RAD, and other leaders as a testament to the power of faith-driven community initiatives.

The OBF 6th Annual Ramadan Lecture, under the supportive leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, continues to serve as a premier platform for moral reflection, religious education, and strengthening community ties during the sacred month of Ramadan.
