In a passionate address during his resumption as the head of Oyo State Hospitals Management Board (OYSHMB), the newly appointed head, Dr. Akin Fagbemi has called upon management and staff to unite in delivering effective and sustainable healthcare services for the people of Oyo State.

Recognizing the vital role OYSHMB plays in ensuring the well-being of the state’s residents, Dr. Fagbemi, during his resumption address on Wednesday, emphasised the need for continued dedication to healthcare excellence while addressing the challenges and celebrating the progress made thus far.

Despite the challenges faced, Fagbemi acknowledged the administration’s efforts in addressing manpower, infrastructure, and equipment issues. He emphasized the need for continuous improvement and called on OYSHMB staff to support him in delivering better and more modern health services.

Fagbemi outlined four key areas of focus: advanced health services, nutrition care, preventive medicine, and telemedicine.

To elevate Oyo State’s healthcare system, he advocated for the integration of cutting-edge medical technologies and practices, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive nutrition care programs, preventive medicine, and telemedicine adoption to expand healthcare access in underserved communities.
