I will never support anybody above the age of 5o, for oyo state governorship candidate – Makinde Declares
Governor Seyi Makinde made a bold assertion to Only Support Candidates Below 50 for Oyo State Governorship, when leaving his office as the Oyo-state governor, in year 2027. He stated this in his address at the Adebo Ogundoyin Student Legislative Summit held today, April 24, 2024, at the International Conference Center, Ibadan. In a passionate speech, Makinde emphasized the need for youth involvement in governance, highlighting the energy, innovation, and fresh perspectives they bring to leadership roles. Drawing from his own life journey, Makinde encouraged students to actively engage in political processes and aspire to leadership positions.
The Governor stressed that he would only support gubernatorial candidates who are below the age of 50, underlining his belief in the importance of generational change and youthful leadership in driving progress and development in Oyo State. This announcement garnered attention and sparked discussions among attendees, who recognized the significance of such a stance in shaping the future political landscape of the state.
During the summit, Makinde commended the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, for his visionary leadership and commitment to youth empowerment.
