Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has officially commissioned the reconstructed Igangan Town Hall, marking another significant achievement in his commitment to community development and people-oriented representation.
The commissioning ceremony, held in Igangan on Friday, November 6, 2026, attracted prominent personalities, political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders and other dignitaries from across Oyo State.
The official cutting of the ribbon of the newly reconstructed ultramodern town hall was performed by the Asingangan of Igangan Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul-Rafiu Adeniyi Ariwoola Aako II, amid excitement and appreciation from members of the community.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Adepoju expressed his appreciation to the people of Igangan for their continued support and cooperation, which he said made the reconstruction of the historic community facility possible.
He described the project as a pragmatic effort towards bringing modern infrastructure and facilities comparable to those obtainable in major cities closer to the people, stressing that rural communities also deserve quality development projects that can stand the test of time.
The federal lawmaker noted that the reconstructed town hall was only a tip of the iceberg of the numerous monumental projects he intended to execute for Igangan and other communities across the federal constituency.
He, therefore, urged residents of Igangan to continue supporting the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), by voting for all its candidates in the forthcoming Oyo State Local Government Election scheduled for December 2026 and the 2027 general elections.
He also offered prayers for the continued peace, unity, progress and development of Igangan and its people.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Dhikrullahi Olajide Adedeji Odidiomo, congratulated the people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North for electing a representative like Hon. Adepoju. The ranking lawmaker maintained that Hon. Adepoju’s impressive performance during his first term in office had demonstrated his capacity to attract more opportunities and development to the constituency.
He argued that returning the lawmaker to the House of Representatives in 2027 would remarkably position the constituency for greater political opportunities and development.
Odidiomo, who is the APM candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, also disclosed that he had just facilitated the delivery of 1,000 units of streetlights for distribution across the three local government areas in Ibarapa Land.
He reiterated his commitment to the growth and development of Oyo South, assuring the people of his determination to provide purposeful representation if elected into the Senate.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government and APM candidate for Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North State Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Lateef Adebare Akorede, thanked the people of Igangan for their continued support.

Speaking further, Hon. Akorede openly identified with Igangan, declaring that he has ancestral roots in Igangan, Ayete and Igboora. He reminded the people that three sons of Igangan extraction were contesting for seats in the Oyo State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections, contrary to the perception that there were only two.
He stated that he had a strong background and connection with Igangan, challenging anyone interested to verify his claims. He described Hon. Salaudeen Amoo as a father and leader to him, while referring to Hon. Lawal Soliu Adelodun as a longtime friend. He urged the people of Igangan to carefully consider their choices and make the right political decision in the 2027 elections.
In his address, the Executive Vice Chairman of Ibarapa North, Hon. Bisi Akande, expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State for his leadership and described him as a leader who understands the direction of governance.
He also commended Hon. Adepoju for contributing to the physical transformation of Igangan through the reconstruction of the town hall, noting that the project had given the community a remarkable legacy that would be remembered by generations to come.
