The Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Pastor Adeola Omoyeni Oduola, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, DSc, GSSRs, for his humane and compassionate treatment of retirees in the state.
Pastor Oduola gave the commendation at a pre-retirement sensitization and payroll enrolment programme organized by the Local Government Staff Pension Board. The programme was designed to prepare prospective retirees for life after service and guide them on how to navigate the new phase after collecting their gratuities and pensions.
In a statement issued by the Director of Education and Social Services, Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Funke Foluso Lala, the Permanent Secretary noted that the blueprint and template laid down by the present administration deserve continuity, so that retirees will continue to enjoy a dignified retirement and those on the verge of exiting the workforce will have nothing to fear.
Commending the Pension Board for the initiative, Pastor Oduola admonished the retirees not to relent in their continued support and cooperation with the state government, adding that, “one good turn deserves another, for His Excellency to have picked a candidate as a successor for himself, it’s because he knows that he’s worth his salt, and the only way to show your appreciation and love to GSM for the good work he has done for both the serving and retired workers of Oyo State is to back his candidate. We equally need continuity in Oyo State just like Lagos State, so that things can continue to move seamlessly, ” he concluded.
