ERE described the appointment as a significant milestone and a call to greater responsibility in the service of the people of Oyo State.
In his congratulatory message, the APM candidate said the appointment recognised Wolekanle’s experience, administrative capacity and contributions to public service. He expressed confidence that the new Chief of Staff would deploy his wealth of experience to strengthen government coordination and ensure the effective implementation of the state government’s policies and programmes.

He expressed optimism that Wolekanle would bring these qualities to bear in supporting Governor Makinde’s vision for sustainable development and improved governance across the state.
ERE particularly acknowledged Wolekanle’s previous service as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, noting that his experience in local government administration would prove valuable in his new assignment.
He explained that such experience would help strengthen institutional coordination and promote effective governance at both state and grassroots levels.
The APM candidate further observed that the appointment presented an opportunity to deepen cooperation between the state government and local government authorities, ensuring that government policies and development initiatives translated into meaningful improvements in the lives of residents.
“Hon. Wolekanle’s appointment is a welcome development and an opportunity to bring his experience, dedication and administrative competence to bear on the continued progress of our dear state.
“I am confident that he will discharge the responsibilities of this important office with diligence, wisdom, integrity and an unwavering commitment to the public good,” ERE stated.
He also commended Governor Makinde for the confidence reposed in Wolekanle, expressing hope that the appointment would further strengthen the machinery of government and enhance the administration’s capacity to deliver on its development priorities.
ERE noted that effective governance required not only a clear vision but also capable individuals who could translate that vision into practical results through coordination, accountability and purposeful leadership.
He therefore urged the new Chief of Staff to remain focused on the collective aspirations of the people of Oyo State while supporting policies that promote inclusive growth, institutional efficiency and socioeconomic development.
Speaking from the perspective of grassroots representation, ERE emphasised the importance of ensuring that the benefits of governance reached communities and ordinary citizens, particularly those whose hopes and aspirations depended on responsive leadership and effective public institutions.
