The Ido/Ibarapa Youths Movement has reportedly rejected Hon. Niyi Yusuf, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, citing concerns about his age and capacity to represent the constituency effectively.
The group also criticised the role of Hon. Remi Oseni, the APC candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, over his reported support for Yusuf’s candidacy.
According to the youth group, the constituency needs energetic, accessible and development-oriented leadership capable of addressing the challenges facing young people and other residents across Ido and Ibarapa East.
The group questioned Yusuf’s suitability for the position, arguing that the constituency should prioritise leadership that can effectively respond to the needs and aspirations of its growing youth population.

The movement challenged Yusuf to publicly outline his achievements in Ido Local Government, particularly his contributions to youth development, empowerment and community advancement.
“We do not want a 73-year-old man to lead us when we have capable young people who can bring fresh ideas, energy and innovation to our constituency. We want leadership that will move Ido/Ibarapa towards greater development and prosperity,” the group maintained.
Youths Commend KSA’s Developmental Initiatives
In contrast, the Ido/Ibarapa Youths Movement commended Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, popularly known as KSA, the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, for what it described as his contributions to grassroots development and youth empowerment.
The group highlighted initiatives attributed to KSA in youth development, women’s empowerment, provision of boreholes and transformers, road construction and educational infrastructure.
According to the movement, these interventions demonstrate the importance of practical engagement with local communities and a commitment to improving the living conditions of residents.
The group maintained that the constituency needs a representative who understands the challenges facing its people and is prepared to work towards sustainable development.
Movement Declares Support for KSA Ahead of 2027
Following its assessment of the candidates, the Ido/Ibarapa Youths Movement declared its support for KSA ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group expressed confidence that his candidacy under the APM could provide an opportunity to strengthen youth participation in governance, improve infrastructure and promote inclusive development across Ido and Ibarapa East.
It urged residents, particularly young voters, to carefully assess the candidates based on their records, commitments and capacity to deliver meaningful development.
The movement concluded by expressing its determination to support KSA’s aspiration to represent the constituency, stating that its ultimate goal is to build a more prosperous and developed Ido/Ibarapa.
Note: The group’s statements about the candidates, Yusuf’s age, the reported interventions attributed to KSA and the endorsement should be independently verified before publication. The report reflects the group’s stated position and does not constitute independent verification of its claims.
